N-ice work…but did they finish the book?

Image

This amazing photo shows Ice Sculptures of Melting Men.  In 2006    Brazilian artist Nele Azevedo created hundreds of sitting figures out of ice…  maybe he’s got too much time on his hands?

Maybe I would have too much time on my hands if I were to watch them slowly melt and disappear…  I would find the figure that would reading a book and watch it slowly melt.  I would hope the figure got to the end of the book before that happened.

Eerie or magical?

Image

To me, this picture has got a slightly eerie undertone. Yet a magical one follows soon after. Would you agree?

The first thing to strike me is that I might be risking life and limb to get to one of the books. The stairs don’t look very sturdy amongst the back-drop of oh-so-many books…  In actual fact, it looks like one of the moving staircases at Hogwarts might come in handy.  You could float away with one of the books.

That said, it IS a beautiful picture and one that made me go ‘wow’.

I wonder just how many more ‘sections’ there are in this amazing library?  Is it, indeed, a ‘maze’?  Would it be possible to actually float away from the bookcases physically and dreamlike, while becoming absorbed in one of of the books here?

A trunk-ated blog for bookworms everywhere

Image

This trunk gives a whole new perspective to the term ‘mobile library’ or ‘book case’.  Even in the age of Kindles and Readers, isn’t it wonderfully comforting to think of a library that travels everywhere with you?

Which books would you lovingly pack into it?

Creatively speaking…

Image

…as my nearly-4-year-old got the sponges and the mini rollers out, she assured me that the ‘lady’ sponge that she splodged in the paint was called Rosie and the 2nd was called Charlotte.  Then she got the car sponge and splodged that too…  It was very colourful, creative and actually very pretty.  I was about to move it to dry somewhere safe and she got the roller and, well, rolled straight through it!  Rosie, Charlotte and their little car were no more… this was the result!  It kept her amused for a while though.  And it amused me too!

A Fairytale Treasure!

It’s always nice to treat yourself isn’t it?  My recent treat came in the form of a Fairytale bracelet.  Lately, I’ve been trying to choose which of my friend Maddy Nayana’s bracelets to go for and eventually opted for the simply gorgous opalite with heart pendant. Image

I love it already!

Thank you Maddy of Fairytale Treasures!

There may well be another order winging its way to you very soon…
