It’s Time for a Treat…

Ever stopped to think

Of your day to day life,

As a daughter, sister, mum

And maybe a wife?

We wear all the hats

As we juggle the balls.

We come up trumps

When the ace card falls.

My house of cards has

The odd shuffle, it’s true.

The King and the Queen,

The Joker’s there too.

But look through the keyhole

Any day and you’ll see

We’re full with love and laughter,

The best things are free.

With the usual humdrum

Of day to day living,

Don’t forget about ‘you’

Cos you’re constantly ‘giving’…

Giving time and attention,

It’s not that you mind,

But it’s time for a treat,

Leave your ‘hats’ behind…

I’m linking up with #TheThemeGame of ‘treat’ at The Reading Residence and Redpeffer with this post.

  1. Mummy Says says:

I love this and so true – we all need to stop and treat ourselves sometimes x

  2. Abby Boid says:

Lovely. ‘Leave your hats behind’ – really like that line.

  3. How very true, not that I treat myself all that often but when I do it’s lovely. Thanks for sharing with #TheThemeGame

  4. You make a good point, here. I like to be busy, with my hats, and so treats are rare! Though I always make time for a book, even if just 10 minutes before I sleep, which always feels like a treat 🙂 Thanks for sharing with #TheThemeGame x

  5. I certainly treat myself to a glass of wine every night after bedtime chaos has died down!! #TheThemeGame
