word of the week chuffed

This week’s word has absolutely nothing to do with writing, reading or being creative.

But I had to share it with the world (well, my followers and the bloggers linking up with Word of the Week!…)

5 weeks ago I took up the Couch to 5 k challenge.  This was no mean feat because, truth be told, I’ve never enjoyed running.  But I decided to do something about the sluggish feeling festering and it needed to cost very little money, or better still be free!

When you consider that 5 weeks ago I was hard-pushed to run for 90 seconds and now I’m up to 2 x 10 minute runs… comfortably.  What’s more, I’m even enjoying it!

Yes, when you consider that, you’ll understand why my #WordoftheWeek with  The Reading Residence is ‘chuffed’.

  1. So happy for you! I tried running before so I know the high but i got injured and never got back.i relaly wanted to go back and run again but theres just no time for me to do so #wotw

  2. Fabulous! I remember being just the same when I took up running, but I stopped when I was pregnant with Boo and have yet to return to it. One day, though! Thanks for sharing with #WotW

    I’m so glad to see your post. I’m starting C25K today, working back from an injury after a year of not being able to work out at all. I am both excited and really wanting to avoid the pain 😉

    • All the very best with you couch to 5k. I was really encouraged this week. After a couple of days ‘out’ because of the constant rain (lame escuse perhaps!…), I was due to run 2 x 10 mins but at the walking rest, I carried on and managed 23 mins running. I was so pleased! Go for it!

    That’s amazing. Good for you. I went to download the couch to 5k app. Turned out I needed to update my credit card details. Turns out I am so lazy, I couldn’t be bothered to get off my backside to find the card. Is there a couch to card app?
