‘P’ is for ‘paper’

a to z challenge blog paper

As regular readers will know (and a glance through my more recent archives will show), I have been getting the ‘paper’ bug lately with #BringBackPaper.  Yes, I have sent a few notes and rhymes off to penpals in an attempt to brighten up their day and their letterbox.  And maybe even the postie with the decorated envelopes!

I’m not adverse to technology.  Far from it.  I mean, I’ve written 3 eBooks with more in the pipeline!  A day doesn’t feel complete without blogging, tweeting, liking and sharing.  However, I like to receive nice post and decided to send some too.

What I love about paper is that you don’t have to spend a fortune to make it pretty.  A few doodles, maybe a bit of washi tape, or even simply an artistically written address can really jazz up an envelope!  Let’s face it, we could all do with sunshine in with those bills and junk mail…

This post is for ‘P’ in the #AtoZChallenge.

I Rhyme on Occasion

I rhyme on occasion when I write for my blog.

The words ebb and flow through creative fog.

The ideas, the rhythm make it all come together

Come rain or shine, through all blogging weather.

So welcome my friend, come in and join me.

You’re just in time, the kettle’s on for a nice cup of tea…

‘N’ is for ‘nifty’

a to z challenge n nifty gadget

A nifty little gadget in the blogging world that I use 2-3 times a week is the linky.

It’s a fantastic way of not only meeting new bloggers, it also gets your blog ‘out there’ and introduces some structure to your blogging week by committing you and your blog to posting to that linky.

The linkys that I regularly take part in on VirtuallyAllSorts are:

#TheThemeGame with Jocelyn at The Reading Residence and Iona at Redpeffer

#WordoftheWeek another one with The  Reading Residence

And once this challenge is complete, I plan to post to #FridayFictioneers with Rochelle Wisoff-Fields’ blog ‘Addicted to Purple’.

‘M’ is for Mummy Bear’s Blog

note on a cork board

…in other words ‘M’ is for my alter-ego.  Back in December 2013 it became quite clear to me – and probably my reader too (I should have asked really – oops!) that I shouldn’t continue to blog everything on VirtuallyAllSorts.  My parenting thoughts were creeping in.  Let’s face it, why would you want snippets about my little bear when you want to escape and focus on reading, writing, virtually everything else?

And so Mummy Bear’s Blog was born…

‘L’ is for Letters

note on a cork board

Being a blogpost for the #AtoZChallenge, you could be forgiven for assuming that this post will focus on the letters of the alphabet. Not so.

That would be a little too predictable.  No, this blog is about #PostCircle which is for the love of snail mail.  Yes, I shuddered too!  Snail mail, in this age of digital interaction?  Surely not?!

Yes indeed.  Hop over to Miss Beatrix’s blog find out how much fun it is and to join in…

I’ve put my stamp on it.

I’m giving these #AtoZChallenge bloggers some ‘kred’, which fits in nicely with my ‘K’ in the blogging challenge…  Read more about kred here.

Grab a cuppa, sit back and enjoy the read.  I did!

Indie Ashley ~ F is for F Oh Yeah I Went There – A slightly unconventinoal read, which is what this challenge is all about – getting out of my comfort zone.

Hopes and dreams: my writings and my sons ~ G is for gun – a chocolate one! Have a quick read!

Olivia Irene Photography ~ H is for highland grog – an interesting caffeinated concoction!

The Ruralhood ~ Ironing boad – ironing out the past.

‘J’ is for Jewellery

a to z challenge jewellery blog

How long did you take to decide on your chosen piece of jewellery to wear today?

Perhaps you chose it because you were drawn to it.

Perhaps the corresponding chakra I out of balance?  Or vice versa ~ do you know which chakra your favourite piece of jewellery aligns with?

Welcome to the wonderful world of crystals, gems and chakras.  Crystals can heal and energise.

Take just 5 minutes to explore… and enjoy!

Indescribable… and it’s the word I use to describe my ‘Just Wow’ pinterest board because I literally couldn’t think of any other word to describe the range of beautiful, stunning, random, bizarre pins…  Enjoy!

‘H’ is for Herbal (tea)

note on a cork board

A few years ago I went cold turkey on the old caffeine for health reasons.  For a couple of days it was haaaard!

Oh yes, it was hard.

Determination and resilience were the key and I turned instead to Redbush (naturally caffeine-free) tea.  It’s an acquired taste, that’s for sure. But now, I don’t think I could drink ‘normal’ tea.  Instead I drink ‘h’erbal tea.  My love of the taste of coffee is satisfied by de-caff.

I saw the sense in having the occasional ‘full fat’, ‘leaded’ coffee, which is a real treat!

What’s your favourite herbal tea?  Comment below or tweet me @AllSortsHere . Maybe it’s a flavour you need to tell the world about!

‘G’ is for ‘graft’

a to z challenge graft blog

Graft is ‘urban’ talk for work.

Or put into more context, it’s hard ‘graft’ to run a blog.  It’s hard graft to write content, to read other blogs, to follow, to post meaningful comments, to link up with linkys or blog hops.

Yes, it’s hard graft indeed.  But it’s ‘graft’ that I’m passionate about, that I love.  If I didn’t love it, I wouldn’t be able to consistently post blogs.  It’s as simple as that.

It’s a challenge that I grasp with both hands each week.

It’s ‘graft’ that I relish as I get drawn in further and further.  I hope you enjoy the ‘fruits’ of my ‘graft’….
